Child Locked in Car? Why You Should Call 911 First, Then Us (Free Service)

1. Call 911 Immediately
If the car is not running and the AC is not on, this is a life-threatening emergency. Fire departments carry entry tools (usually a "Big Easy" wedge or a window punch). They will get that door open fast.
Yes, they might break the window. Who cares? Windows can be replaced. Lives cannot.
2. If the Child is Safe (AC is On), Call Us
If the engine is running and the air conditioning is blasting, you have a little more breathing room. The child is comfortable, just trapped.
In this scenario, waiting 15-20 minutes for a professional locksmith prevents broken glass and a terrified kid.

- Keep keys in your pocket: Never set them on the seat or roof.
- Roll a window down: Before you shut the door to walk around to the driver's side, crack a window.
- Spare Key: Keep a mechanical spare key in your wallet or a magnetic box.
